With Pro Kabaddi Season 7 auctions scheduled on 7th and 8th April speculations are doing the round on retentions of players by franchise. Patna Pirates 3 times champion failed to make way to Pro Kabaddi Season 6 playoffs and surely management would have done some introspection and come-up with a strong plan of actions for season 7 starting from the retention. Ideally Patna Pirates should release all the players other than Pardeep Narwal and Manjeet.
Pardeep Narwal is by default retention for Patna Pirates. Pardeep Narwal played 21 matches scored 233 points with a brilliant average of 11.9 raid points per match in 391 raid attempts. Patna Pirates retained Pardeep Narwal for 60.5 lakhs in season 6 and if we add 10-12% increment, Pardeep Narwal at 66-70 lakhs is a gem at such a cheap price.
What Pardeep Narwal needs is a good 2nd and 3rd raider who can bring him back and in that case Manjeet the young tall and lanky raider becomes the 2nd choice of retention for Patna Pirates. Talking about defense Patna Pirates may think of retaining Jaideep but looking at his season 6 price tag of 55 lakhs he is an expensive retention and Patna Pirated might RTM him during the auctions.
