The Haryana Steelers will face off against Partna Pirates in their fifth match of the seventh season of the Pro Kabaddi League.
Haryana Steelers will look to get back to their winning ways when they take on Patna Piratres in the fifth match of the Pro Kabaddi League season seven in Patna on Wednesday, 7 August 2019. The Steelers will be eager to prove a point on Wednesday after they went down fighting to Tamil Thalaivas in the previous match.
The return of star raider Vikash Khandola has bolstered the attack of the Steelers. The in-form raider topped the scorecard with seven points against Thalaivas. Vikash is positive about the match on Wednesday and is hoping to gain some crucial points.
Talking about the mood in the dressing room, Vikash said it remained positive despite the results. “The last match was very close, we lost by seven points. We had the lead initially but were unfortunate to lose. We are positive of making a comeback against Pirates. The coach has asked us to leave the results behind and take only the positives from the match against Thalaivas,” said Vikash.
The Pirates on the other hand have lost two back-to-back matches at home, and their captain Pardeep Narwal is yet to hit form. The dip in performance of the home team will serve as a huge confidence booster for the Steelers.
The steelers are aware of the threat posed by Patna’s captain and plans are in place to keep him in check. “Our target will be to keep Pardeep out of the pitch, it increases our chance of winning. We know their team is low on confidence after their last match and we will look to capitalise on it,” added Vikash.
A win on Wednesday would take the Steelers to eleven points from five games.
