Delhi Senior State Kabaddi Championship Tournament went underway yesterday (3/4/2021) in Delhi's Sarita Vihar- organised by Sarita Vihar Kabaddi Association, Southeast district. This tournament features 11 districts from Delhi in both Men and Women sections. This is the first time that Delhi State Kabaddi Association is organizing a state selection tournament for the selection of players who will play the 68th Senior National Kabaddi Championship. Hats off to the players who are showcasing their skills for the last two days in the demanding heat in the capital. 

Men's Section on day 1 saw 9 league matches happen and top 4 form each of the 4 groups made it to the Semi Finals. Paschim Vihar Kabaddi Association, Dwarka Kabaddi Association, Rohini Kabaddi Association and Alipur Kabaddi Association topped each of their groups to make it to the Semi-Finals of Delhi Senior State Kabaddi Championship.

Semi Final 1 of the Men's section began with Dwarka Kabaddi Association taking on Paschim Vihar Kabaddi Association under the heat in Delhi. The match did not fail to deliver as this went down to the wire and both teams were at it till the 40th minute of the match. Paschim Vihar and Dwarka both teams kept scoring points regularly and match was neck to neck through out. In the end it was Dwarka who kept their cool and pulled off a two point win over Paschim Vihar to make it to the finals of Delhi Senior State Kabaddi Championship.

Semi-Final 2 which followed after the epic Semi-Final 1 was between Rohini Kabaddi Association and Alipur Kabaddi Association. The match began with both teams scoring points at will and match in the first half was an neck to neck affair. Both teams with stars on their side in the likes of Mohit Chhillar, Neeraj Narwal, Mohit Seharawat and Preetam Chhillar- it was a star studded line ups indeed from both teams. it was in heated encounter and in the 2nd half Alipur stepped up to take lead in the game leaving Rohini behind. Alipur went on to win the match by a lead of 9 points to make it to the final of the Delhi Senior State Kabaddi Championship.

• Semi Final 1- Dwarka vs Paschim Vihar: 35-33

• Semi Final 2- Alipur vs Rohini: 51-42

The all important final of Delhi Senior State Kabaddi Championship (MEN) is set to take place later in the day where Dwarka Kabaddi Association will face off against Alipur Kabaddi Association. It promises to be an mouth watering encounter between two strong teams.
