Delhi Senior State Kabaddi Championship Tournament went underway earlier today (3/4/2021) in Delhi's Sarita Vihar- organised by Sarita Vihar Kabaddi Association, Southeast district. This tournament features 11 districts from Delhi in both Men and Women sections. This is the first time that Delhi State Kabaddi Association is organizing a state selection tournament for the selection of players who will play the 68th Senior National Kabaddi Championship.
Day 1 of the tournament saw 11 districts from Delhi in both men and women section in action. We also saw big names in the likes of Mohit Chhillar, Ashish Chhokar, Amit Chhillar, Pritam Chhillar, Vikas Chhillar, Neeraj Narwal, Mohit Sehrawat and more in an action packed day in Janta Flats ground in Sarita Vihar.
The tournament was inaugurated by Chief guest Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, Opposition Leader, Delhi. Guest of Honour Smt. Kamlesh, Counselor, Madanpur Khaja. Niranjan Singh, Vice President, Delhi Kabaddi Association, MS Tyagi General Secretary Kho-Kho Federation. The above dignitaries showered their presence and declared the tournament open. Special shout out to Mr. Niranjan Singh, Vice President, Delhi Kabaddi Association, Mr. Surender Singh, General Secretary, Delhi Kabaddi Association and all the office bearers of Delhi Kabaddi Association who has one of the key reasons why Delhi Kabaddi is seeing such huge growth.
The day began with Bhajanpura Kabaddi Association taking on Mehrauli Kabaddi Association in the men section, which saw Mehrauli take on the game from the word go and they did not give a chance to Bhajanpura to come into the game. The game ended with Mehrauli winning with 22 point score difference. In the Women section it was Paschim Vihar who took on Dwarka Kabaddi Association in the first game of the day. This match was one of the interesting matches to begin with but Dwarka took advantage towards the end to win the game with a lead of 8 points. Later in day, Mohit Chhillar's Rohini team was seen in action against Bhajanpura Kabaddi Association. Rohini Kabaddi Association won the game with ease and a massive score difference of 29 points. In the women's section Mehrauli Kabaddi Association and Rohini Kabaddi Association played out an close game where no could say which side the match would go, in the end Mehrauli kept their nerves to win the game with a 4 point lead against Rohini. Neeraj Narwal's Alipur beat Pillanji in an one sided encounter with a massive lead of 35 points, the game also saw Neeraj doing multiple super raids. Dwarka Kabaddi Association and the home team Sarita Vihar Kabaddi Association played out the most interesting game of the day. The match kept the audience guessing on what would the end result be, in the dying minutes of the match Dwarka got to a 2 point lead to win game by whiskers against the hosts Sarita Vihar.
Rohini Kabaddi Association, Paschim Vihar Kabaddi Association and Dwarka Kabaddi Association from Men's section had a day to remember as they won all their games with to make their way into the Semi-Finals of the tournament. In the Women section Dilshad Garden Kabaddi Association, Mehrauli Kabaddi Association, Dwarka Kabaddi Association and Alipur have safely secured their place in the Semi-Final of the Delhi Senior State Kabaddi Championship which is set to happen on 4/4/2021

The Final day of the Delhi Senior State Kabaddi Championship will see the knock outs games played out. In the girls section we will see Dilshad Garden from Shahadra district face off against Dwarka from Southwest district in Semi-Final 1 and Mehrauli from South District will fight off against Alipur from North district in the Semi-Final 2 of the Delhi Senior State Kabaddi Championship. The men's Semi-Finals line up is yet to be decided as one game remain the league stage of the tournament.
