Chandigarh's boys' team handed a shocking defeat to the heavyweights Haryana in the quarterfinal of the Junior National Kabaddi Championships 2020. The defending champions won the match 52-27 as Banty Satish once again was the star of the match with 15 raid points from 25 attempts. Ankush Ashok scored a High 5 with eight tackle points.
After going toe-to-toe for the first few minutes of the match, Chandigarh inflicted an all-out on their opponents and took a six-point lead in the match. It was no looking back for the Chandigarh team as they then went on to get another three all-outs on the Haryana team with the last one coming in the final raid of the match.
Sports Authority of India went past Maharashtra 37-31 to set up a semifinal clash with Chandigarh. SAI converted their slender lead into a big one in the final minutes of the match as Meetu went on to score 12 raid points and Jaideep scoring six tackle points. It was an easy win yet again for Uttar Pradesh as they defeated Punjab 40-18.
Rohit Maansingh and Yogesh Narender scored 13 raid points each as Goa once again created an upset in the tournament when they defeated Himachal Pradesh 47-40. Goa will be up against Uttar Pradesh in the second semis.
