According to interviews about his career, Devank did not begin with a clear plan to become a professional kabaddi player. He was interested in sports such as football and cricket before he started taking kabaddi seriously. Watching Pardeep Narwal play on television also influenced his decision to focus on the sport after completing his tenth grade.

Devank began structured kabaddi training around the age of 17. His early opportunity came through the Rohtak team at state-level competition, where receiving his first proper kabaddi kit became an important moment in his journey.

His family has remained an important part of his story. Reports about his career have highlighted the support he received from his family while he worked his way through the domestic circuit. When he was selected by Patna Pirates, his village celebrated the achievement, showing how closely his rise was followed at home.

Devank Dalal Domestic Kabaddi Career

Before becoming a PKL star, Devank spent important years playing in domestic kabaddi. His association with the Services team gave him an opportunity to compete alongside several established Indian players and helped him gain more experience at national-level competitions.

His time with Services became especially important in 2025. At the 71st Senior National Men’s Kabaddi Championship in Cuttack, Services defeated Railways 30-30 and then won the tie-breaker 6-4 to lift the title. Devank was part of the strong Services squad that also included players such as Naveen Kumar, Bharat Hooda, Rahul Sethpal, Ankit Jaglan and Jaideep Dahiya.

Devank Dalal PKL Career

Devank Dalal entered the Pro Kabaddi League in Season 9 in 2022 with Jaipur Pink Panthers. He was signed in the New Young Player category and initially had only a small role in the team.

That first season still gave him something important: a place in a championship-winning squad. Jaipur Pink Panthers won their second PKL title in Season 9, while Devank made five appearances and scored four raid points.

PKL Season 9 – Jaipur Pink Panthers

Devank’s first PKL season was mainly about learning. He played five matches and scored four raid points from 11 raids.

PKL Season 10 – Injury Setback

Devank remained with Jaipur Pink Panthers for Season 10. However, he played only one match after suffering a serious skull injury during training.

The injury was a major setback because it came just as he was trying to establish himself in the league. His Season 10 campaign ended early, and he had to work his way back before getting another major PKL opportunity.

PKL Season 11 – Breakthrough Year

The 2024 season changed Devank Dalal’s career. Patna Pirates signed him for around ₹20 lakh at the auction, and he quickly became one of the team’s main raiders.

Devank finished PKL Season 11 with 301 raid points in 25 matches. He also recorded 18 Super 10s and eight Super Raids, and his 70.65% successful raid rate was one of the key numbers behind his season. He was named the Best Raider of PKL Season 11.

One of his most memorable matches came against Tamil Thalaivas, when he scored 25 raid points in Patna Pirates’ 42-40 win. Earlier in the season, he also produced a 26-point performance that he later described as a match that changed his career.

Devank helped Patna Pirates reach the Season 11 final. The Pirates lost 23-32 to Haryana Steelers, but Devank still finished the season with the Best Raider award because of his outstanding individual numbers.

PKL Season 12 – ₹2.205 Crore Move to Bengal Warriorz

After his record-breaking Season 11, Devank entered his first major PKL auction. Bengal Warriorz signed him for ₹2.205 crore, making him the most expensive Indian player at the Season 12 auction.

Devank had another high-scoring season. He finished PKL Season 12 with 271 raid points in 16 matches, along with 15 Super 10s. His 16.94 raid points per match was the best average in the season among the players listed by Pro Kabaddi’s statistical records.
