New selection committee announced for the 11th Beach National Kabaddi Championship

The Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) has announced a new selection committee to oversee the upcoming 11th Beach National Kabaddi Championship. This crucial tournament will be held in Bodh Gaya, Bihar, from August 9th to 11th, 2024. 

The committee includes the legendary Kabaddi figures, Manpreet Singh, Manjeet Chhillar, and Srinivas Reddy. All three have been tasked with selecting the Indian men's team for the forthcoming Beach Kabaddi World Cup. Meanwhile, Tejawini Bai, Mamtha Poojary, and Banani Saha will select the women's team.

Originally planned for Uttarakhand, the championship was shifted to Bihar due to scheduling conflicts with the Beach World Cup. 

Manpreet Singh, Manjeet Chhillar, and Srinivas Reddy bring a wealth of knowledge to the selection committee with their vast experience and deep understanding of the game. Manjeet Chhillar runs his academy to train aspiring Kabaddi players. Meanwhile, the other two, Manpreet and Srivivas are the coaches in Pro Kabaddi League.

Notably, Tejawini Bai, Mamtha Poojary, and Banani Saha use their expertise to ensure that the chosen team represents the best of Indian kabaddi on the global stage.

While there's no age limit for participation, players must adhere to weight restrictions: 85 kg for men and 75 kg for women. Online registration is mandatory, and participants must carry a signed registration form along with their Aadhar card to the venue.

To ensure uniformity, all teams must wear a uniform with clearly visible chest numbers. The organizing committee emphasizes the importance of carrying the player ID card, which will be generated upon online registration.

The AKFI has urged all affiliated units to participate actively in the championship by submitting online entries before August 5th, 2024. This will facilitate the smooth conduct of the tournament.
