A healthy growing nation' has been the driving force for Adani Wilmar Ltd. and under its flagship brand Fortune. With an objective of promoting the culture of sports, Fortune visualised the idea of creating a Kabaddi team for its home state Gujarat. This marked the arrival of Gujarat Fortune Giants in the Pro Kabaddi League in 2017. Gujarat, a land which is mostly known for its festivals and delicacies had limited followers of Kabaddi and the league initially. However, as the team began charging its opponents with its mighty war cry ‘Garjega Gujarat’, it became a delightful watch for the people of Gujarat. The mascot of Gujarat Fortune Giants is one of its kind too. It isn’t a superhero but represents the spirit of the people of Gujarat who are rooted, powerful, full of energy, and brave. Much to the surprise of its fans and opponents, Gujarat Fortune Giants stormed into the finals in its very first season. Even in the second season (2018), the team made its way to the finals, becoming the youngest and the most successful team in the league. What sets Gujarat Fortune Giants apart from the other teams is the ideology of creating a hero out of every player instead of depending on one. The team was led by Sunil Kumar Malik in season and coached by Manpreet Singh. The Fortunegiants play their home matches at The Arena by TransStadia. The team have retained Sachin and Sunil for Pro Kabaddi Season 7, scheduled to start from 19th July 2019.
