The Karnataka Rajya Amateur Kabaddi Association announced that the selection for the boys and girl's teams for the upcoming Junior National Championships would be held on the 27th of January 2020. The selection is scheduled to take place on the day from 8:30 AM at Bangalore's Sree Kanteerava Stadium.
The 46th Junior National Kabaddi Championships for Boys and Girls will be held from 13th to 16th February 2020. The tournament is to take place in the city of Rohtak in Haryana and is organized by Haryana State Kabaddi Association.
The Karnataka Kabaddi Association has asked all the affiliated district associations of the state to send the three best players from the boys and girls each to attend the trials. Following is the eligibility criteria for the player to attend the selection trials:
- The age of the player should be below 20 years.
- He/She should be born on or after 17-02-2000.
- For boys, the weight limit is 75 kgs while for girls, it is 70 kgs.
The players who would be attending the selections are required to produce proof to confirm the age. They can bring a copy of the passport, original adhar card, or date of birth certificate given by the City Council Municipality Government of Karnataka.
History of Junior Nationals Kabaddi Tournament
The players are required to come with a pair of shoes and wear them during the trials. The Association can ask the player to not play if they are without the asked kit. The association has also asked the district affiliates to make sure that the players are registered to the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India(AKFI). The premier body for Kabaddi in the country has made it mandatory for all the associations to make sure that the player taking part in the national and state-level tournaments should be registered in the AKFI. The registrations can be done online and a copy of the form will have to be submitted to the state association.
