Out of a 100 NYPs (New Young Players) who were hoping for an opportunity to play Pro Kabaddi 8, only 4 players were picked by 3 teams. The first pick in the draft went to Tamil Thalaivas who placed 12th last season. Followed by Telugu Titans.
Anup Kumar's Puneri Paltan then picked Mohit Goyat, who played for Bhaini School in the K7-Stage Up and scored a massive 179 points in 13 matches. Mohit will lap up this opportunity to work with Anup, who was a brilliant raider and strategist in his times. Telugu Titans then bought right cover Prince, who represented Chandigarh at the 67th Senior Nationals. His data looks slim to be able to predict his impact on the upcoming PKL8.
UP Yoddha then got themselves all-rounder and right cover Nitin Panwar. Nitin represented UP in the Junior Nationals and will look to grow in the UP Yoddha squad and academy. Finally, Puneri Paltan also lapped up Rajasthan's left cover Govind Gujjar. Rajasthan finished a noteworthy 3rd in the Senior Nationals.
A very big surprise that most teams have chosen to not exercise their right to pick a player through the the NYP draft. All teams seem to have worked hard in the off season and created a draft of young players they have already signed. Lots of young stars from the K7 are likely to be unveiled by teams in the coming weeks. WATCH OUT!
