So far 2018 has been a remarkable year for Monu Goyat. From being the most expensive player in the history of Pro Kabaddi League to playing his first international kabaddi tournament in Dubai, he has seen it all.
Monu Goyat was bagged by Haryana Steelers for a record breaking 1.51 crore at PKL 6 auction. This made him the most valuable than some of the best sportpersons in football, wrestling and badminton in India. Since then not only has Monu – a farmer’s son and an army man – rewritten his own life story, but he has also shown new heights in this rural sport.
Monu also shot for his first magazine cover with Hindustan Times, Brunch, where he talked about his social media presence, importance of brain work in Kabaddi and his first international trip to Dubai to play Kabaddi Master Tournament.
