While the Railways men's team has come with their A team featuring A star-studded lineup the Kerala SAI has only one PKL player, Vimal Raj. Yet they gave the Railways team a run for their money. With just 5 minutes left in the game, the Kerala team was trailing by just 2 points, and Railways had exhausted their timeouts also. With a super tackle situation, it looked like the Kerala team had trapped Rohit Gulia well and truly, till the young boy (who shouldered the lead raider role for Gujarat Fortune Giants) just got a finger nail across the mid line. Railways won the match 28-18.
CISF started their campaign with a 39-23 win against Sooryakanthi. They too had a second tough match when they played against Sonipat Panthers. The Panthers gave CISF a run for their money as the latters managed to win the match by a margin of just two points, taking the match 29-27.
In the semifinals, CISF will be up against Kerala SAI while Indian Railways will play Sonipat Panthers.
The women's category will see Indian Railways taking on CISF in the first match on 28th of December. The second match will be played between Kerala Queens and Sooryakanthi, followed by third match between Indian Railways and Delhi Janices.
