Indian women's Kabaddi team would enter the mat against Nepal in the South Asian Games 2019 Finals on Monday. The women's Kabaddi will be aiming to win their fourth consecutive gold medal at the South Asian Games.
They have been phenomenal in this edition of the games with three wins from three games in the preliminary stage. The balanced line up is led by Priyanka playing from the cover defense, with support from her deputy Deepika Joseph Henry. Sonali Shingate has managed to successfully be on the attack, assisted by Nisha, Pushpa, and Sakshi Kumari. Ritu Negi along with Harvinder Kaur have been fabulous in the corner as they reduced all their opponents below the score of 20.
India started their campaign against Sri Lanka with a 53-14 win, followed by another convincing victory against Bangladesh. The Indian women's team registered their third preliminary stage win against Nepal to make a place in the finals.
The Nepal women's team will be playing their first gold medal match at the South Asian Games. They have two wins from three games, with the only loss coming against India. Nepal won their first match against Bangladesh 36-25, while their second win came against Sri Lanka in what was a tightly fought match. They will be looking to make a statement by giving in a tough fight against the defending gold medalists.
