Patna Pirates playing their last league stage match and a must win game but Pirates attack and defense failed against Gujarat Fortunegiants. with this loss UP Yoddha have a chance to qualify if they defeat Bengal Warriors tomorrow. Rohit Gulia started the raid and scored a bonus, while Pardeep Narwal also scored a bonus point in his first raid. Patna Pirates took the lead and it remained a close fight. In the 9th minute Gujarat Fortunegiants leveled the score, 6-6 but in the same minute Pardeep Narwal's 2 points raid brought back Pirates in lead.
First half remained low scoring game and after a long time we saw Pardeep Narwal's brilliant execution of Dubki. In the 19th minute Giants defenders sent Pardeep Narwal on the bench and leveled the score 12-12 and sent Manjeet on bench in the 20th minute and took one point lead to walk into the half time, 13-12.
In the second half it remained a tight game and in the 22nd minute Patna Pirates leveled the score, 13-13, but to their disappointment Gujarat Fortunegiants leveled the score in 27th minute, 15-15 and took 1 point slender lead in the 28th minute and Giants were able to hold this lead till the end of the game.
In the Pirates attack Pardeep Narwal scored 10 raid points in his 18 raid attempts but Gujarat Fortunegiants successfully kept him off the mat for more than 15 minutes as Pirates raiders were not able to revive him. Gujarat Fortunegiants playing with their B team with Rohit Gulia as lead raider, he scored 9 points and he was supported by Ajay Kumar with his 8 points. In defense Sunil Kumar was brilliant with his 100% strike rate and scored 5 tackle points. Towards the end it was Lalit Chaudhary who sent Pardeep Narwal on the bench in a super tackle situation and Giants registered a comfortable win, 37-29.
