Chandran Ranjit's Tamil Nadu Postal team emerged as the winners on the last day of the All India Kabaddi Tournament 2019 in Kanyakumari. They defeated SSB Haryana team 38-31 in the finals to lift the trophy. In the women's division, Northern Railway went past SMVKC 25 - 29 in a close encounter to win the finals.
Ranjit kicked off the finals with a touch on Sonu of SSB Haryana and took the first points for his team. However, the SSB team fought back as their star raider Anand picked up a touchpoint and bonus in the very next raid. They took a slight lead in the match as the Postal team tried to catch up.

With the teams tied at 7-7, Ranjit picked a touchpoint off Mohit to get Tamil Nadu in the lead. Soon after, he inflicted the first all-out on the opposition to increase the points gap. As the first half ended, Tamil Nadu Postal were leading 21-15 in the match. The second all-out at the beginning of the second helped the Postal team to increase the gap by 10 points. SSB Haryana tried to make a comeback and managed to trail by just three points. They could not do much after that as Tamil Nadu Postal reach the winning line.
Ranjit was the highest-scoring player for Tamil Nadu Postal with 10 raid points and one tackle point. Muni scored nine raid points, while C Kalai Arsan and M. Abhishek picked up four tackle points each.
The women's final match between SMVKC and Northern Railway saw a neck to neck battle between the two teams. The match started with both the teams picking back to back points and giving a tough to each other. SMVKC's R. Sathya Priya got two points in a Do-or-Die raid to take her team in the lead. They led 13-10 at half time.
In the second half, Northern Railway's Sonia picked up four points in one single raid as that became a building stone for their comeback. They slowly went on to pick points and inflicted an all-out to take a 22-20 lead. They held on to the lead until the match finished and won the match. For the Railways, Sakshi Kumari and Monika Devi got 8 raid points each.

SMVKC's R. Sathya Priya picked up 10 raid points in the final. She was supported by M. Arul Mozhi with nine raid points. Sathya Priya had a great run in the tournament and was named as the Player of the Tournament (Women's).
