Which Teams Have Finished Last the Most in the Pro Kabaddi League

Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) is a battleground for exciting battles between strong teams and intense face-offs with up-and-coming challengers. These matches keep fans excited and eager, with every moment packed with suspense and excitement.

But for the past many seasons, the Pro Kabaddi League has witnessed a consistent trend - the Tamil Thalaivas and Telugu Titans lowering at the bottom of the points table. Season after season, they've struggled to climb out of this position. Despite their best efforts, they find it challenging to escape this downward trend. From missed chances to strategic errors, the experiences of Tamil Thalaivas and Telugu Titans show how tough professional sports can be. While other teams soar, these two remain stuck at the bottom. Why?

Let's find out why they keep struggling by analysing their performance across various aspects

 1. Telugu Titans

They have consistently found themselves at the bottom of the points table from Season 8 to Season 10.

Seeking a fresh start in Season 10, the Titans chose to retain only five players in Player Auction but they again lowered the points table managing to win only 2 matches falling to 20 defeats from their 22 matches in the league stage.

The key reason for Telugu Titans' struggle at the bottom of the points table is the team composition, predominantly comprising young and relatively inexperienced players in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). Raiders like Robin Chaudhary and Prafull Zaware lack significant professional PKL experience. In kabaddi, coordination between raiders and defenders is crucial for success but Telugu Titans relied heavily on a sole player, Pawan Sherawat, for their performance.

Pawan Sehrawat who secured the top raider position for Telugu Titans in Season 10, notching 142 raid points across 15 matches, with 18 of those points coming from do-or-die raids.

While having a talented player is undoubtedly an asset, kabaddi is a team sport where individual performances alone may not be enough.

2. Tamil Thalaivas

Tamil Thalaivas have consistently displayed poor performance across Seasons 5, 6, 7 and 8.

Talking about Season 8, Tamil Thalaivas found themselves in the 11th position, securing only 5 wins. The team's struggle was due to low raid points, with players like Bhavani, Prapanjan, and Ajinkya Ashok Pawar failing to make significant contributions on the mat.

In Season 10, despite the leadership of a talented coach like Ashan Kumar, the team struggled to secure a prominent position in the PKL standings. Although their start was less than ideal, however, they excelled in the latter stages, propelled by the exceptional performances of players such as Ajinkya Pawar, Narender Kandola and Sahil Gulia. Their consistent effort helped them to stand in 9th position in the league standings.

Both Telugu Titans and Tamil Thalaivas have faced consistent challenges in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), struggling to secure higher positions in the points table. Despite their efforts, both teams have found themselves at the bottom of the table multiple times, highlighting the need for strategic improvements and better coordination to compete effectively in future seasons of the PKL.
