As the 8th edition of Pro Kabaddi League recently came to an end, here's a look at the Top 3 Right Corners in this edition of the league. Read on for more information.

 

3. Sombir (Puneri Paltan)

Bought by the Puneri Paltan for 34.5 lakhs, Sombir proved to be quite effective in the defensive unit for the team. Puneri Paltan made a great comeback in the 2nd half of the tournament on the virtue of its strong defense, and Sombir was one of the players who excelled really well for the team. Sombir played an important part in keeping Puneri Paltan in contention for the playoffs. Sombir managed to make 112 tackles, scoring a total of 60 tackle points. With an average time of 77.82% on the mat, coupled with an average out rate of 48.62%, Sombir helped Puneri Paltan in qualifying for the playoffs this season.

 

2. Saurabh Nandal (Bengaluru Bulls)

Playing for the Bengaluru Bulls this season, Saurabh proved to be the standout defender for the team. While Pawan Sehrawat took charge of the raiding department, it was Saurabh, who along with Aman, succesfully managed to deliver the performances for the Bulls. Saurabh made a total of 112 tackles this season, also scoring 69 tackle points this season. The defender also spent an average of 86.37% time on the mat this season, also giving a successful 31% assists for Bengaluru. Saurabh proved to be one of the vital players for the teams, as the Bulls managed to not only qualify for the playoffs, but also reached the semifinals.

 

1. Sagar (Tamil Thalaivas)

Retained by the Tamil Thalaivas for mere 8 lakhs, Sagar proved to be the key defender for Tamil Thalaivas this season. For a team that didn't quite click in terms of the raiding department, it was the defensive unit that delivered this season for the Thalaivas.  Playing at the left corner, Sagar, along with Surjeet Singh ensured that the team formed a solid defensive unit going ahead in the tournament. Sagar finished the season with a total of 144 tackles, bagging 82 tackle points for the Thalaivas, ending just behind MohammadReza Shadloui Chinayeh in terms of the tackle points. An average of 81.14% on the mat is a testament to his great performance for the team this season.
