PKL 2024: Puneri Paltan probable playing 7 to defend the title in PKL 11

The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 11 may begin on October 18, 2024. The reigning champion Puneri Paltan is all prepared to defend their title. Ahead of the PKL 11, the Paltans have retained most of their winning team members and made valuable additions to their squad at the PKL 11 player auction. 

The defending champion, Puneri Paltan has once again trusted BC Ramesh with the responsibility of head coach. He successfully guided his team to victory in PKL 10. This was the first time that Puneri Paltan had won a PKL title. They reached the final in PKL season 9 earlier but fell short against Jaipur Pink Panthers.

Head coach BC Ramesh has played a crucial role in retaining their captain Aslam Inamdar. Aslam is not just a captain he is an avid raider and reliable defender too, he was the top points scorer for the Paltans in PKL 10 with 168 total points, including 142 raid points and 26 tackle points.

The Pune-based franchise has also retained Mohit Goyat, who has been associated with Paltan since PKL season 8. Since his debut season, Mohit has been the mainstay raider in the team. On numerous occasions he has saved Paltan from difficult situation, with his raiding and defensive skills too. In PKL 10, he earned a total of 151 points, including 122 raid points and 29 tackle points.

For the PKL 11, the Puneri Paltan has one of the best offensive units. Aslam Inamdar and Mohit Goyat are the two frontline raiders. On the other hand, they have the likes of Akash Shinde, Pankaj Mohite and Aditya Shinde. Additionally, to add to already awesome firepower they acquired the services of V Ajith Kumar at the PKL 11 player auction of ₹66 Lakhs.

Puneri Paltan also has a strong defensive unit. Gaurav Khatri will lead the defensive charge along with cover defenders Abinesh Nadarajan and Sanket Sawant. However, they have released their left-corner defender Mohammadreza Shadlou, one of the key players who played an important role in making Paltan the champion in PKL 10.

To fill the void left by Mohammadreza Shadlou, Puneri Paltan bought Mohit Khaler for ₹20 Lakhs. Furthermore, to strengthen their defence they have also bought Ali Hadi for ₹14.10 Lakhs and Mohammad Amaan for ₹16.20 Lakhs.
