PKL 2024: Bengal Warriorz probable playing 7 for PKL 11

The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 7 winner, Bengal Warriorz is gearing up for PKL 11. The start date for the 2024 edition of Pro Kabaddi League or PKL 11 has not been announced yet but it is speculated to begin on 18th October. In the PKL 11, Bengal Warriorz eyes their 2nd title.

Ahead of the season Bengal Warriorz saw a change in their coaching unit. They promoted Prashant Surve from assistant coach to head coach post. Under his guidance, the franchise retained some of the best players in their squad like Nitin Kumar, Vishwas S, Dipak Shinde and Aditya Shinde. 

Although they released Maninder Singh aka ‘Mighty Mani’ before the PKL 11 player auction, but bought him again using FBM card for 1.15 crore rupees. Bengal had one of best auction strategy in PKL 11. They got steal buy of Fazel Atrachali for just 50 Lakhs rupees and Nitesh Kumar for just 13 Lakhs. 

Nitin Kumar, Vishwas S and Arjun Rathi will shoulder the responsibility of raiding department along with Maninder Singh. Nitin and Vishwas were retained by the Warriorz but they bought Arjun Rathi for 41 Lakhs rupees, making him the most expensive player from category D for which the base price was only 9 Lakhs rupees. Arjun has impressed the selectors with his skills in the tournaments he has participated in.

Just like their raiding, the defence of Warriorz is also sorted. Fazel Atrachali will hold the left-corner position and Nitesh Kumar will handle the right-corner position. Mayur Kadam and Vaibhav Garje, both are the right-cover defenders who will be supported by Shreyas Umbardand.

For the upcoming PKL 11, the franchise has two options for the captaincy. First option is Maninder Singh, who has been leading the side for a while now and has done a decent job. The second option is Fazel Atrachali, who has captaincy experience with various franchises such as U Mumba, Puneri Paltan and Gujarat Giants. In PKL 9, Fazel was leading Puneri Paltan and took them to the final.
