PKL 11 Kicks Off with Thrilling Wins for Dabang Delhi and Telugu Titans

The opening night of PKL Season 11 featured two exciting matches that set the stage for a thrilling tournament. Dabang Delhi K.C. kicked off their campaign with a convincing 36-28 victory over U Mumba, driven by Ashu Malik's impressive Super 10 performance. In the other match, the Telugu Titans edged past the Bengaluru Bulls with a score of 37-29, highlighted by Pawan Sehrawat’s remarkable performance.

Match 1: Telugu Titans vs Bengaluru Bulls

Telugu Titans secured a commanding victory against Bengaluru Bulls in the opening match of the Pro Kabaddi League 2024, finishing with a score of 37-29. The clash took place at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad, where both teams aimed to set the tone for the season. 

Pawan Sehrawat led the charge for the Titans, showcasing his raiding expertise by scoring a Super 10, marking an impressive start to his season. His ability to break through the Bulls' defense repeatedly proved to be a decisive factor in the game. Sehrawat's agile movements and strategic raids kept the Titans ahead and frustrated the Bengaluru defense, which struggled to contain him. Meanwhile, Krishan Dhull’s contributions on the defensive front were equally vital; he managed to secure a High 5, providing stability to the Titans' defense and preventing the Bulls' raiders from gaining momentum.

In contrast, Bengaluru Bulls found it challenging to match the intensity set by Telugu Titans. Pardeep Narwal, the ‘Dubki King’ who is often the Bulls' go-to player, had an underwhelming performance, which significantly affected the team’s chances. His inability to break free from the Titans’ defensive setup limited the Bulls' scoring opportunities and placed additional pressure on other raiders to step up. 

The first half saw a tightly contested battle with both teams exchanging points. However, the Titans gradually took control as the game progressed, largely due to their superior defensive organization and Pawan Sehrawat's timely raids. The momentum shifted in favor of the Titans as they capitalized on the Bulls' errors, extending their lead in the latter stages of the game. The combination of effective raiding and solid defensive plays proved to be a winning formula for the Titans, who showed a significant improvement from last season.

Match 2: Dabang Delhi vs U Mumba

Dabang Delhi K.C. began their Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 11 campaign with a strong performance, defeating U Mumba 36-28 in a thrilling match that showcased both teams' skills. Midway through the second half, Ajit Chavan reached his Super 10, supported well by Amirmohammad Zafardanesh. As the match approached the final ten minutes, Dabang Delhi held a six-point lead, but U Mumba's persistence kept the contest alive. Zafardanesh's dual contributions in raiding and defending sparked a late comeback attempt for U Mumba, as they fought hard to narrow the deficit.

Despite U Mumba's efforts, they could not overcome the Dabang Delhi lead. Ashu Malik's performance proved pivotal, and his Super 10 ultimately helped secure the win. Amirmohammad Zafardanesh finished the match with 11 points for U Mumba, while Ajit Chavan added 10 points to his tally.
