Nimmagadda Prasad is an Indian industrialist from Andhra Pradesh. He is well-known in the Pharmaceutical industry. In 2000, he began his company, Matrix Laboratories. The industrialist is also famous for his philanthropic activities through Nimmagadda Foundation. Prasad is also one of the owners of Kerala Blasters in the Indian Super League and Bengaluru Blasters of the Indian Badminton League.
Tamil Thalaivas history in PKL
Tamil Thalaivas have struggled throughout ever since the first edition. The team's performance has been inconsistent and is one of the reasons why they have constantly finished at the bottom half of the table.
However, things changed for the team when they appointed Ashan Kumar as their head coach. Initially, The franchise appointed Udhay Kumar as their coach. Under him, the team had lost four matches and tied one. Udhay Kumar had to leave the franchise due to personal reasons. The franchise went on to appoint Ashan Kumar as their coach.
The former Indian player was the captain of the team when India went on to win their 1st Asian Games Gold medal. He won the Arjuna Award and Dronacharya Award in 2021. The 63-year-old played a major role in helping Tamil Thalaivas qualify for the Eliminators for the first time in their PKL history. The team had ten wins and four ties from their 22 matches, and they managed to end in the fifth spot. Right after Udhay Kumar left, Ashan Kumar was instrumental in helping the team win five matches in a row, the team's longest streak in their PKL history.
Also, for PKL 9, the team roped in Pawan Sherawat for a huge amount. The superstar raider became the most expensive buy of the PKL history when he went for whopping 2.26 crores. However, due to injury, Pawan Sherawat was ruled out of the tournament. It was certainly a big blow for the team.
