PKL 10: Predicted Playing 7 of UP Yoddhas for their first match against U Mumba

UP Yoddhas will begin their Pro Kabaddi League season 10 campaign against Season 2 champions U Mumba. They will lock horns right after the first match between Gujarat Giants and Telegu Titans. 

The Trans Stadia arena at Ahmedabad will host the first leg of the tournament followed by Bangalore, Pune, Chennai, Noida, Mumbai, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Patna, Delhi, Kolkata and Panchkula. 

Meanwhile UP Yoddhas this season will look to go an extra mile to reach the Finals which they haven't done since entering the tournament in season 6. They have reached the play-offs of every edition since then but unfortunately they have bowed out from the eliminators in each season. 

But with a new season, they have renewed hopes of reaching the finals, their head coach Jasveer Singh stated. As they square off against U Mumba in the opening match, here is the predicted playing 7 of UP Yoddhas. 

1. Pardeep Narwal (Centre Raider): The Dubki king will of course operate from the centre of UP Yoddhas and the onus will once again be on his shoulder to do the raiding job for UP. Last season, Pardeep scored 220 raid points in 22 matches and overall he has 1568 raid points in his PKL career. 

2. Ashu Singh (Right Cover): Ashu Singh has been with UP Yoddhas since season 7 and he has developed to become a regular starter for UP Yoddhas. In his debut season, Ashu scored 42 tackles points, 49 and 49 tackle points in the next 2 seasons. 

3. Harendra Kumar (Left Cover): Harendra Kumar was with U Mumba for the past 3 seasons where he more or less produced mediocre performances. He scored 20 tackle points on his debut year, 31 in his second and 26 tackle points last season. 

4. Surinder Gill (Right in Raider): The Punjab born Raider is a key player in the UP Yoddhas team since 2019 (Season 7). He has been part of the team in each of their eliminations from the play-offs and this season he will once again have the task of supporting Pardeep Narwal. 

5. Vijay Malik (Left in All Rounder): All-Rounder Vijay Malik could prove to be a good signing for UP Yoddhas as he brings wealth of experience with him which can be very beneficial for UP. He also knows what its like to be a part of a championship winning side as he was a part of Patna Pirates' PKL Season 5 winning season. He scored 74 raid points last season and also took 8 tackle points for Dabang Delhi. 

6. Nitesh Kumar (Right Corner): The Indian national player is an UP Yoddha out and out, having spent all of his 4 seasons with the team. He has improved each and every season and it is evident in his stats. In his first season, Nitesh scored 47 tackle points, then he scored 100 tackles points, followed by 75, 57 and 34 tackle points. Though his performance dipped last year, UP will hope that Nitesh will step up for the occassion. 

7. Sumit (Left Corner): Last but not the least, another player who has been a part of the core UP Yoddhas team for the last 3 years. He scored 80, 63 and 56 tackle points and he is expected to play a key role in the Left-corner of the mat.
