Bihar Women's Kabaddi League 2024 enters semifinal stage

The Bihar Women's Kabaddi League 2024 is heating up as the tournament enters its semifinal stage. The four teams that have secured their spots are Patna Pelicans, Siwan Titans, Saran Strikers, and Nalanda Ninjas.

Patna Pelicans Secure Semifinal Spot

Patna Pelicans, one of the favourites to win the tournament, confirmed their place in the semifinals with a convincing victory over Siwan Titans on Thursday night. The match was closely contested in the initial stages, but Patna Pelicans pulled away in the second half to secure a 21-18 win. Gungun Chauhan of Patna Pelicans emerged as the star performer, scoring 6 raid points and 8 tackle points. For Siwan Titans, Manya Kumari was the best defender with 5 tackle points.

Siwan Titans and Saran Strikers 

Siwan Titans, despite their loss to Patna Pelicans, managed to book their semifinal berth thanks to their superior record in the league stage. They had earlier defeated Magadh Warriors in their opening match.

Saran Strikers also made it to the semifinals after defeating Magadh Warriors in a thrilling encounter. The match went down to the wire, with Saran Strikers emerging victorious by a narrow margin of 30-25. Pratibha Kumari of Saran Strikers was the best defender with 5 tackle points, while Sundar Kumari of Magadh Warriors was the best raider with 9 raid points.

Nalanda Ninjas Make a Surprise Entry

Nalanda Ninjas, who were considered as underdogs at the start of the tournament, have pulled off a surprise by reaching the semifinals. They stunned the highly-rated Siwan Titans in their last match, winning by a comfortable margin of 34-18. Nancy Priya of Nalanda Ninjas was the best raider with 13 raid points, while Siwan Titans' Manya Kumari was the best defender with 5 tackle points.

Sitamarhi Sentinels, who had a strong start to the tournament, finished their league campaign after a hard-fought 43-21 victory over Magadh Warriors. Suruchi Kumari of Sitamarhi Sentinels shone with a brilliant performance, scoring 15 raid points. Anjali Kumari of Sentinels was also impressive, claiming 9 tackle points.

With the four semifinalists now determined, the stage is set for some exciting matches in the knockout stage. The top two teams in the league stage, Patna Pelicans and Siwan Titans will clash in the first semifinal, while Saran Strikers and Nalanda Ninjas will face off in the other semifinal. The winners of these matches will advance to the final, while the losers will have to settle for the bronze medal match.
