Sachin Tanwar, one of the promising prospects in the Indian Kabaddi team, plays as the raider. Though he is just 24, Sachin Tanwar is already one of the best players in the country. He went on to represent India in the 2017 Asian Kabaddi Championship where India lifted the trophy.
Now, Sachin Tanwar is back into the team for the upcoming Championships which will take place in South Korea from 27 to 30 June. Sachin's presence adds more value to the India team.
Age and Background
Born on 19 July 1999 in Badhbar village of Jhunjhunu district, Rajasthan, Sachin comes from a family of Kabaddi players. His elder brother Deepak and Uncle Rakesh also played Kabaddi while growing up. He learnt his raiding skills from his brother initially.
He made a mark in U14, and U16 kabaddi tournaments, which helped him to get into the Junior Nationals for Haryana. His successful performances in the junior nationals paved the way for the senior national trials. In 2017, he got into the Indian team for the Asia Kabaddi Championships.
Role and playing style
Sachin Tanwar majorly plays as the Right Raider for his team. He is known for mixing aggression with maturity. He is also known for his do-or-die raids and has more consistent hauls than explosive bursts of points. He is also known for reading the game and playing situations well and can put on empty raids or longer raids whenever necessary.
Domestic Team
In domestic tournaments, Sachin Tanwar recently represented Rajasthan in the Nationals. In fact, Tanwar was named as the captain of the team. His other domestic teams include Rajasthan Police and Income Tax.
Current Teams
Sachin Tanwar was picked up in the auction by Gujarat Fortunegiants in PKL 5. He was retained by the franchise for the next two seasons. Patna Pirates bought him in the PKL 8 and the team retained him in the PKL 9 season.
Price in PKL
Sachin Tanwar was bought by Gujarat Fortunegiants in the PKL 5 for INR 36 Lakhs. His price increased in the next season to INR 56.87 Lakhs. In PKL 7, Gujarat Fortunegiants retained him for INR 78 Lakhs. He entered the auction once again in the PKL 8 where Patna Pirates bought him for INR 84 Lakhs.
In PKL 9, Patna Pirates used FBM and bought him for INR 81 Lakhs.
Sachin Tanwar is a young 19 year old raider for the Gujrat Fortunegiants in the Pro Kabaddi League and hails from Kurukshetra, Haryana. He made his mark in his debut season when he was picked by the Fortunegiants to lead their raiding. He was announced as the best debutant of the league. He has also represented India in the 2017 Asian Kabaddi Championship. He has a viscious running hand touch in his arsenal of moves.
