By turning his passion into career, Amit has set precedent for many young aspiring kabaddi players. Pro Kabaddi League has given him and several others the platform to prove themselves and get recognized for the talented sportsmen that they are.
PKL 2019 will be Amit’s sixth appearance as a defender in the series. He has been associated with the Gujarat Fortune Giants ever since his debut in 2014. For a player from his background getting trained by national level professionals seemed like a dream come true. The rigorous fitness regimes and personality grooming sessions have not only helped him as a player but also as an individual. He gives the credit of these achievements and growth to Pro Kabaddi League.
Amit developed an inclination towards kabaddi at the mere age of 13 and has been giving his all to it ever since. He didn’t have his family’s support initially who considered education and a stable job to be of higher importance. However, they came around and began showing considerable interest when the youngster got selected for junior nationals in his sport.
Amit has played at the junior national level for a total of four times and has bagged gold medals for three consecutive years, namely 2016, 2017, and 2018. His love and determination towards kabaddi didn’t come in the way of his education. Amit completed his B.A. and then went on to pursue his passion for the game.
