Abolfazel Maghsodlo Pro Kabaddi Career
Abolfazl debuted in PKL in the third season playing for U Mumba but was only used as a substitute and didn’t get many opportunities to prove his mettle. His break came in Season 4 where he played for Patna Pirates who eventually won the title. He played a crucial role as a do or die raid specialist and scored points with his deception and using his long limbs to reach the midline when tackled. In Season 5, he was bought by Dabang Delhi to support Meraj Sheykh, his Iranian compatriot and captain. His signature move is the running hand touch and escape after luring defenders to tackle him and escaping to safety using his tall stature. He amassed 91 points in 19 games for Season 5, his personal best till then. However, the team had a horrific season finishing in the bottom half of the table. He maintained his status quo as the do or die specialist in Season 5 amassing 26 raid points in the crunch situations.
In Pro Kabaddi Season 6, he was bought back by U Mumba but couldn’t replicate his form from the previous seasons. In Season 7, Gujarat Fortune Giants bought him at the auctions. He didn’t play much for the team in Season 7 and it was one of his worst seasons so far in PKL.
