It has been more than a month since the 67th Senior National Kabaddi Championships concluded in Jaipur. With the COVID-19 pandemic spreading everywhere, Kabaddi's action has been a standstill. Q: With everything closed down and nowhere to go to practice or for any activities, how are you spending your time at home?
Nitin: I am currently spending time working out at home. Since there is no practice for the sport, I train twice a day, in the morning and evening. I try to spend at least an hour and half each time for my workout.
Q: What changes have you brought in now that you are training individually?
Nitin: Since I am practicing individually, there are many restrictions that come in. I am currently focusing on improving my raiding skills and work on my weaknesses. I keep watching my older videos to find the mistakes that I have done and I find ways to improve them.
Q: You are getting to spend a lot of time with your family now. How are you feeling?
Nitin: It is great to spend time family. I am on tours or camps most of the time and hence I miss being at home. Now that I am home, I am enjoying the meal cooked by my mother and we all spend time talking and having fun.

Q: Are you able to maintain your diet while at home? What changes have you brought in the diet?
Nitin: We are not able to do mat practice currently. So, I am depending on the individual workout and so I have changed the diet for that as well. It is difficult to follow a proper diet when you are at home for this long without any practice. I have increased the intake of milk, ghee and curd since I am not able to get a good amount of fruits. The markets are closed and it is tough to get fresh food items on a daily basis. I am making sure that I try to maintain my diet as much as I can.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
Nitin: As I am getting a lot of time at home, I am spending them improving my games, chatting with family, watching movies and old Kabaddi matches.
Q: What movies do you like to watch?
Nitin: I mostly watch sports movies like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Dangal. Such movies motivate me and inspire me to prepare myself better for any tournament. Since there is no Kabaddi action now, I am keeping myself energized by watching these movies.
Q: What would you like to say to your fans during this tough situation of Corona virus?
Nitin: I would like to urge people to stay inside their house and not panic. There is no need to go out during these tough times and even when the lockdown is lifted, people should try and avoid going out until the situation becomes stable. Please take care of yourself and your family.
