Former Indian Kabaddi team captain, Anup Kumar, has come forward amid the ongoing crisis and has urged the fans to fight against COVID-19. The entire country has been under lockdown since the 25th of March due to the Corona virus pandemic. The Government of India had ordered a nationwide lockdown with the increase in the cases of the Corona virus.
In a video uploaded on Instagram, the Kabaddi World Cup 2016 winning captain says, "We Indians know how to play Kabaddi and we are very good at defending the opponents as well. With the world fighting against a pandemic like Corona virus, the lockdown ordered by our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is for the benefit of our own and the whole country. I request you to please follow the lockdown, stay at home, eat healthily and help in preventing the spread of the virus."
Earlier, stars like Ajay Thakur, Sandeep Narwal, Siddharth Desai, Shrikant Jadhav, and Deepak Niwas Hooda had come forward and urged the country to stay indoors and stay safe.

In a video shared with Kabaddi Adda, Bengaluru Bulls coach Randhir Singh Sehrawat also put out a message for the fans. He said, "The world is going through a tough time and fighting the corona virus. We, the country of more than a billion people are also fighting against the virus under the leadership of our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. Just like our Kabaddi players, we have to keep in mind the following three things - 1. Foresightedness: To ensure that we are in this fight as long as we need to be. 2. Strong Intention: To acknowledge that we will win. 3. Discipline: To be inside our homes and help the cause of the lockdown. This is a tough time for all of us but we will face it and win the war against the pandemic and move towards a better India."

Western Railways’ Neha Ghadge further took his message forward, as she urged the fans to take care of themselves. She saluted the medical staff, police and the government that has been working round the clock for our safety. She asked her fans to stay in their homes and do your bid their bit by not coming in contact with anyone.
