The All India Inter-University Kabaddi Championships 2019 for Men kicked off today at the Poornaprajna College Ground in Udupi. With the inauguration being done in the morning, the matches got underway since the afternoon. A total of eight matches were played as all the 16 teams completed their first matches.

Having won their match by a difference of 20 points, SRM University are sittin on the top of Group A. M D University, Rohtak are on the second place, follwed by Kolhapur's Shivaji University and L.N. Mithila University.
In Group B, Kurukshetra University crushed Gondwana University to take a huge lead in the points table on the very first day. They lead by 53 points to top the Group B. The match between Mangalore University and M.G.K.V.P, Varanasi ended in a tie and both the teams have shared three points each to be on the second and third spot respectively. Gondwana University is placed on the fourth place.
The Group C matches were a one sided affair for the winning teams as G.N.D University, Amritsar and M.S. University, Tirunelveli have taken the first and the second place respectively. They are followed by Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University on third place and University of Kota on fourth.
V.B.S University, Jaunpur is on the first place in Group S standings, while C.B.L University, Bhiwani is on second.
