Following the lines of the women's Kabaddi team, the Indian men's Kabaddi team also reached the finals of the South Asian Games 2019. They defeated Bangladesh 44-19 to register their third consecutive win the tournament.
In a surprising move, the Indian team went on the floors with five raiders and two defenders. It was Pardeep Narwal, Vikash Khandola and Naveen Kumar on the attack for the team, with the captain and vice-captain duo of Deepak Niwas Hooda and Pawan Sehrawat respectively starting as covers. Amit Hooda and Surender Nada played as the defenders.
India started the match with a huge boost of confidence from the first two wins. Pardeep began the proceedings with a Super Raid with support from Vikash to get the first all-out on Bangladesh in the first five minutes of the match. The duo scored six points each in the first half of the game as India led 28-8 at the end of the first 20 minutes. India had picked up 15 raid points in the first half, against Bangladesh's two. However, Bangladesh managed to get two Super Tackles against Indian raiders to pick up points.
The second half also saw the same momentum from the Indian side as they did not give a single change for the Bangladesh team to make a comeback. With a comfortable lead of 25 points, India managed to seal the deal in their third preliminary match and register a hefty 44-19 win over their neighbors.
