In a shocking decision AKFI could not announce the team in time - a disappointment for the players and tournament organisers.

The general goal of AKFI has been to spread the love for Kabaddi across many countries, to ensure a place for Kabaddi in 2028 Olympics. For tournaments like Asian Games and Dubai Master, in fact AKFI exported many coaches to empower teams new to Kabaddi. Kabaddi 2016 World Cup was in jest also called the Indian Coaches League. Teams including Iran, South Korea, Australia, Poland and USA creating a unique Make In India moment through the sport of Kabaddi. Given all this history that the decision not to send a team is a big miss.
