Dabang Delhi KC got back to winning in style with a convincing 50-34 victory over Tamil Thalaivas in Pro Kabaddi League match at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium, Kolkata on Sunday.

Starting from a disappointing loss against Haryana Steelers in the previous encounter that happened on Saturday. Delhi rejigged their raiding department by bringing in experienced Meraj Sheykh in place of Chandran Ranjit, who proved himself and put on a dominant display of raiding skills from the start of the first half itself. Delhi now sits firmly atop the 12-team standings with 59 points from 14 matches. Youngster Naveen Kumar,19, was once again the star for Dabang Delhi KC as he added another “SUPER 10” to his name to make it 12 consecutive super 10 in a row.

The match had a quick start as Naveen Kumar was in the exceptional form once again as Delhi’s early dominance resulted in Thalaivas becoming ‘All-Out’ in the tenth minute of the first half as the score stood at 10-5 in favor of Delhi. Rahul Chaudhari, Manjeet Chhillar and Ajay Thakur looked helpless on the mat but the only game-changer for the Tamil Thalaivas was their best talent Ajith Kumar who did impressive raiding and secured points for his team taking the score to (7-13). The lack of unity in the Thalaivas’ ranks showed as Naveen upped his game to inflict another ‘All-Out’ a minute before the half time. The First half ended with Delhi leading 24-12. Second Half of the match saw Naveen achieve his Super 10 and Meraj Sheykh produced a three-point raid to reduce the Thalaivas to just one man on the mat.

Dabang Delhi KC became the first team to reach the 50-point mark this season.

The Third All-Out was achieved by the 3rd minute of the half as Sheykh also claimed his ‘Super 10’ and thrashed the Thalaivas completely. Thalaivas had already committed a whopping 24 unsuccessful tackles by the fifteenth minute of the half and that summed up the problems in the camp. Rahul Chaudhari clinched his Super 10 and Ajith Kumar secured 9 points in final stages of the match but there was no coming back for the Chennai-based franchise as they suffered another huge loss.
