With Pro Kabaddi Season 7 auctions scheduled on 7th and 8th April speculations are doing the round on retentions of players by franchise. U Mumba one of the strongest contenders in season 6, who bought the most expensive defender Fazel Atrachhalli at 1 cr. U Mumba will release Fazel and may choose to RTM him in the auction.
In attack Siddharth Desai will be the first retention choice. SIddharth Desai played 21 matches, scored 221 points with the average of 10.38 points per match in 321 raid attempts. U Mumba bought him for 36.40 lakhs in season 6 and with 10-12% incement Siddharth Desai at 40-42 lakhs is the most valuable retention for U Mumba.
Another likely retention for U Mumba is Dharamraj Cherlathan, who was brilliant during the season and even outside PKL in the 3 tournaments he played, Railways Interzone, Senior Nationals, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay. U Mumba bought him for 46 lakhs in season 6 and with 10-12% increment at 51-53 lakhs he is a valuable retention.
In defense U Mumba will surely retain Surender, in season 6 he played 22 matches, scored 62 points with the average of 2.68 in 127 tackle attempts. With change in NYP policy Surender Singh may cost U Mumba 25-30 lakhs and at this price he is one of the valuable retention.
Another 2 raiders U Mumba may think of retaining or RTM are Darshan Kadian and Rohit Baliyan.
