West Bengal state unit, affiliated to Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI), is organising the four-day-long 45th Junior National Kabaddi Championship. The boys and girls tournament will kick off at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium, Kolkata from 15th to 18th February.
More than 40 teams, including boys and girls team, from across the country will participate in the Championship. The day and night competitions will be conducted inside the indoor stadium from 1pm to 9pm. The stadium with 12000 capacity is located just next to the Eden Gardens, and is the home of the Bengal Warriors, a Pro Kabaddi league team.
More than 400 players from different states 60 + coaches and members of various kabaddi associations, will accompany their respective teams.
Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) has prepared a panel of 30 technical officials for smooth conduct of the matches. Also, national observers from the AKFI will maintain strict vigil to ensure that the guidelines framed by the AKFI are maintained during the matches.
Arrangements have been made for lodging, boarding and refreshment of the participating teams and their associates. Volunteers have been assigned tasks to oversee safety and comfort of all the participating teams.
